When you say "Marbella," you often think of Puerto Banús: yachts, designer shops, shiny cars, and a vibrant atmosphere. From the sea, you can immediately feel that energy—lively, international, and always on the move.
Puerto Banús was opened in 1970 by José Banús, a visionary developer who dreamed of a luxury marina where the international jet set would feel at home. At the opening, names such as Prince Rainier and Grace Kelly, Juan Carlos, and Aristotle Onassis were on the quay—and that atmosphere of elegance still lingers today.
Luxury, life, and sea views
Along the marina, superyachts are moored alongside boutiques from brands such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Dior. During the day, it is a mix of visitors, residents, and shoppers; in the evening, the harbor transforms into a scene of light, music, and international flair. Yet it never feels distant; it remains a place where people like to stroll, have lunch with a view of the sea, or enjoy fresh fish and a good glass of wine in the evening.
There are only a handful of apartments and penthouses on the front line, which are scarce and therefore highly sought after. The rental market here is exceptionally strong, both for short vacations and longer stays, which also makes Banús interesting for those who want to combine return on investment with lifestyle.
From here, you can walk for miles along the long paseo: eastward to Los Monteros, westward to San Pedro. For many, this is the most beautiful walking route in Marbella; along the sea, palm trees, and beach clubs, with plenty of places to eat or just hang out along the way.
